I think it could. My eldest is Katherine and for awhile, we called her Katie, but the weird thing is, Kassie would pop out of my mouth at the weirdest times. This happened for years. So if Kassie could work as a nn for Katherine, then Callie could certainly work for Catherine.

I like Callie a lot but for me, it would be a nick for Callista which I think is gorgeous.
