WDYT of Kaia ...
WDYT of the name Kaia? Pronounced as KYE-a
I go back and forth on how much I like it, one day I may love it and the next I may just think it's nice. Either way, I'm not sure if I would use it or not.
I'm still uncertain on the meaning of it though. So far I've come up with:
(Old Norse) “Hen” from Kaða
(Hawaiian) “The Sea” from Kai
(Greek) “Earth” from Gaia. Possibly a Hawaiian variant of Gaia?
How does Kaia Ruth sound?
And also WDYT of Mira Ruth, Lilia Ruth & Raina Ruth?
And just for fun, which boy's name do you prefer, Dominic or Asher?

~Kaia's very pretty, but I also Katherine or Katarina.
~Can't help you with the meaning- you already know what I know!
~Kaia Ruth is very pretty; I love Ruth- it's very Biblical and underused.
~I like Mira Ruth and Lilia Ruth (like Lily Ruth even more), but don't like Raina Ruth. I just don't like Raina in general.
~Both Asher and Dominic are great; don't make me decide!

For some reason, it has a trendy feel to me, which makes me like it a bit less. I do like the Kaia spelling though. I just worry there will be a bunch of Kyas running around at some point. :(
Also: Kaia Ruth sounds nice. Mira Ruth is nice (the R's run together a bit but it's not bad at all), as is Lilia Ruth. Not so crazy about Raina Ruth (too alliterative). I like both Dominic and Asher, but prefer Dominic a bit.

It is also a form of Katarina
Kaija (pronounced the same as Kaia) is a Finnish form of Katarina.
I think Kaia Ruth is a pretty name. Do you think it is too unusual and people will spell/pronounce it wrong.
Lilia Ruth is lovely. MiRa Ruth and Raina Ruth are too R-heavy imo.
I like the meaning and origin of Asher. But I like Dominic better, it is more international. I guess I'm not that fond of the SH-sound in the middle of names. (I don't like Ashley either)

I love it. I'm afraid it will become popular, but for now, it's great. I also love just Kai on both sexes, but Kaia has more substance to it.
Kaia Ruth is too short imo. Ruth needs a longer fn.

I really like it. I also like the spelling Kya which means "Diamond in the sky" in African.
Kaia Ruth is a pretty combo, I like it.
Mira Ruth is alright, I don't think the flow is the best though. Lilia Ruth I love. It's gorgeous.
Raina Ruth is ok, but I'm not a big fan of the name Raina or having two names with the same letter.
I like both Dominic or Asher, but if I had to pick one then it would be Dominic.

I like Kaia but I would spell it Kaya. In one book I read there was a Nez Pearce indian girl name: Kaya a ton my (spelling?) any way, the book says that her name means 'she who aranges rocks' so Kaya either means 'she' or 'rock' in this place. I've also seen Kaya used as a boy's name, and it's pronounced the same way you pronounce Kaia.
Kaia Ruth (or Kaya Ruth) is alright, Ruth sounds rather plain next to Kaia here though.
Mira Ruth is beautiful, but Lilia Ruth is so perfect! I love it!
Lillia Grace is on my favorites list.
I prefer Dominic, it does remind me a bit of dominoes but better that than 'ash'! In general I dislike Ash- names like Ashley, Ashlynn, and Ashton. Domininc sounds royal, cute and manly.
Have yourself a buggy little Christmas! I've adopted 26 ! and 4 @, see my profile

I gather you're speaking of the American Girl Collection. I have never read the Kaya series, but I used to be obsessed with the books when I was younger : )

Kaia is okay..I'm not crazy about it though.
I pronounce it KYE-ah too.
I usually see it as a fem. form of Kai so I se it as meaning "hen" or "the sea".
I prefer Mira Ruth and Lilia Ruth to Raina Ruth. I don't care for the double R. Kaia Ruth is okay, but Mira and Lilia strike my fancy moreso then Kaia.
Kaia reminds me of Caius without an S. hehe. I quite like Caius though.
