Iris, Irene and Irina
I've thought about these names lately, I really like both their meanings. Do you like any of them? And do you think Iris sounds too trendy?
Thank you.
Thank you.

Iris is one of the better flower names. Irene is dreadful if pronounced eye-reen, but if pronounced eye-REE-nee it's refreshing. Irina (I take it this is ee-REE-na?) is fine if you're in a language community that supports the pronunciation; otherwise it'll be a mission explaining where it comes from.
Well, I'm a bit biased, as my name is Irene, but I like it! When I was younger, I didn't care for it at all, but I've grown to really love it. I also like Irina and Iris.
Personally, I adore Iris and I don't think it's really being picked up by non name nerds.
Irina is nice too, but Irene still feels too dated for me.

I love the name Irene! It's one of my favorites. But I think Iris and Irina are equally beautiful. Iris is a little more on the common side, but I don't think she is so common that you shouldn't use her!
Lovely! I like all three. Iris is my favorite followed by Irina and then Irene. Iris at the top of my girls' list.
As far as trendiness is concerned, I don't think that any of them are too trendy.

Out of the three, I would choose Irina. Iris is okay and Irene is a little too grey-lady for me (and I love old names! even Aileen!). Irina would stand out before Iris though many would gravitate to Iris because of her floral beauty. I don't think Iris is trendy . She's kinda iffy. She sounds trendy but then again she's not. She could be popular but I don't think she'll be trendy (unless an Iris WannabeRitch or Iris WannabePopular bursts onto the scene).

I love Iris! It's in my top 5 :o) I don't think it sounds trendy. Trendy-sounding would be along the lines of "kay/jay/bay/hay/zay/may (etc) + lee/lin/la/den/da (etc)".
Iris does fall in to the "old is new" trend, imo, along with names like Alice and Nora. I think there is an old-is-new trend *but* these names aren't trendy... if that makes sense?
Irene and Irina are pretty as well.
