Re: Lucia
in reply to a message by t
My name is Lucia and I LOVE it. I changed my name to it 4 years ago :o) I started off with the "loo-sha" pronunciation just because it was the only one I'd been exposed to up until that point. I moved to Spain last year though, and so that pronunciation went out the window. I really love "lu-SEE-ah" (or in my case over there, "lu-THEE-ah") now.
I go by Lucy more often than not, though (and that's why I changed my name to Lucia in the first place). Lucia nn Lucy is fantastic, imo!Gotta say, Paige does nothing for me as a middle name, but it's nice enough.

Thanks Lucia ! I would be curious what you would suggest as an alternative nickname? Part of me doesn't want to relinquish my very much loved Paige... but at the same time I know I could find something that flows better.thanks so much! What did you change your name from, by the way?

You're welcome!
An alternate nickname, or middle name? I get called Luce, Luc (like Luke... I'm not sure why), and Lu (as well as Lucy). Lia would too.If you mean middle name, my personal favourite is Lucia Alessandra. I'm also partial to my name (Lucia Vivian) ;o)
I think if you're attached to Paige, don't change it. It doesn't flow poorly, but imo, it's behind Lucia (and an Italian last name) in spunk-factor. If you love it and will regret not using it- definitely use it!Are you looking for something short and English? Or does it matter?
I like the sound of these:
Lucia Paloma
Lucia Dahlia
Lucia Tamsin
Lucia Charlotte
Lucia Rosalind
Lucia Genevieve (I like both the French & English pronunciations in this case)
Lucia Ivy
Lucia Hazel
Lucia Bryony
Lucia Violet
Lucia Neve My favourites are Lucia Dahlia, Lucia Tamsin & Lucia Hazel.
Good luck!
(I changed it from Kristin Anne. It just doesn't fit me at ALL and I never felt connected to it. My best friend started calling me Lucy when we were 9, so I've been called this for more than half my life and I just identify more with being a Lucy)
