I have a coworker with the same name, she pronounces it "CARE-ah", so I naturally say it that way also.

Kara is more like Care-uh.

Same with Tara, Mara, Lara, Dara.. the first syllable rhymes with 'car'.

I pronounce the first syllable like 'care'. One of the girls I work with is named this.

Car. This is influenced for me by the Irish word which is also a name, Cara.

i pronounce it 'Kar-rah' and I don't see how it could be pronounced any other way. Same with Tara (tar-rah). Then again, I'm from Australia and thats the only way I've been exposed to.
