I adore Anne, but I just love Annie as a nickname but I love it even more as a first name on its own. Wdyt?

I have a dd named Anna so naturally, I prefer Annie strictly as a nick. I'd rather see Anna, Anne or Ann (or any variant) on the bc. OTOH, Annie is one of the cutest nns around, imo.

I really like Annie, and I wish it was used a little more. It has more spunk than Anne, and is sweeter than Anna. I've often wished it were my now, because it's so hard to get people to switch over what they call you.

I LOVE it as a nn. I like it as a fn, but prefer it as a nn.

It's to cutesy on their own. I think most people would assume her name was Anne or Anna anyway. What about Antonia, Annabel, Alexandra, Anneliese?

I agree with you. As a first name it is totally legit. I have an aunt Annie Keturah

I've never been an Annie person, so I don't particularly love it on its own. I love Anne and Anna to pieces, but I'm not overly fond of Annie.

I like both Anne and Annie - my aunt's name was Annie. I think I'd use Anne and use Annie for a nn though.

I like Annie as a nn and as a fist name. I don't think it's a boring name and I think Annie is a very livly name. I also much like it better then Anne or Anna.

I love the name Anne! It's classic and elegant. If you want a cute nn though, I would prefer Ana over Annie. Annie is too cute b/c of course I think of little orphan Annie. But I have a friend who loves the name Annie so much I think she wishes it was her name! So I think I'm in the minority with not liking it.

I think it's too informal to be used as a fn, although I will admit to liking a few combos using Annie as a fn. But in real life I wouldn't want to see if used straight like that. Anne is much more mature and professional, and I also happen to ADORE it. I wouldn't use Annie as a nn, though. It's cute, but too predictable.

Ok so I wont say negative comments but to me Anne & Annie are a bit plain, and safe names. I always think of Anne as a middle name (filler) that most people my age have (that or Rae). I don't find Anne flattering enough to name my daughter this but its not terrible. To me its alittle androgynous, even though boys dont use it I still get a rougher feel about it. I also feel its older fashion but not yet ready for revival but that doesnt mean you cant start the revival. I personally prefer Anna over Ann and Annie. An-nah not Anne-uh.PS. my hairdressers name is Annie
