Cornelia, Nell, Jannela, Tenille, Belen, Canela, I think I like Canela (cah-NEH-lah) the best. It means cinnamon in Spanish.a

We'll I use it as a nn for Danielle, but that or Daniella is probably not creative enough.I'm not that kre8tyv, but here are some legit names that it could be used for.

I love Antonella and Donatella but can't use them because of bad acossiations with a Donna and an Antonio. :-( Lovely names!

Nellene is nice... do you think I could use Neilina?
Leonelle, Nelliana, Nellette, Hannelore and Marinella are great too!

Sure, why not? I'm rather lax about nicknames (after all if Bess works for Elizabeth and Jim for James...).

Annelie is especielly nice. I was thinking of maybe Anella or Aniela as an option.I also like the initials idea, Marinella, Noella and Cornelia is a nice idea too!

WellNelly on its own is a pretty darn cute. So is Nell. I find Nell so much more creative, original and refreshing than any of the names it could be short for. Just sayin' that right now. BUT, I also think these could work:Helen / Helena / Helene
Eleanor
Ellen
Cornelia
Penelope
Leni / Lena / Lennie / Lenny (via the backwards form of Nell - yeah that's right, Nevaeh style)
Yelena
Nelda
Nella

I agree that it can be very nice alone but it doesn't match with my two son's names. :-(Vashan (vah-shAHn)and Tayari (tay-AH-ree)My sister's name is Helena, so Yelena holds a double appeal for me!
