Allegra
My other thread made me think of this name. My cousin has three of them in her grade at a private school in NY.
I think it's really pretty but fear it might get common. What do you think of Allegra? I think it has such a nice meaning and lovely sound.

This was one of my favorites when I was a little girl. I love the way Allegra looks and I love its meaning. My main criticism, surprisingly, isn't the association to the allergy relief medicine (although that is unfortunate). It's the fact that the word 'leg' is so prominent in the name. Still, I love it and am thrilled to hear that three people in one school are named Allegra! I've never known a single one. I can't see it becoming popular at all, but you never know.
I love it and would use it. It might become more popular, but I don't see it becoming uber popular.
I love it
I also really like Allegra, but it is becoming quite popular - you see it every now and then in the BA's here (Western Australia) - which makes me think it must be quite popular because a) I don't read the BA's every week and b)not everyone announces births in that newspaper so there must be many more born with that name than are announced.
Popularity does tend to deter me from names, I wouldn't use Allegra simply because I've seen it a few times in the BA's. But that's just me. It still remains a lovely name though!

It has a nice sound and a nice meaning, but its a kind of medicine.
Agreed
I would probably like it a lot, if I didn't always think of the pills.

I love Allegra!
I have character siblings named Allegra, Eliza, Lola, & Cy.
I had no idea people out there were naming their children Allegra. It's not even in the top 1000 (and it never has been).
I don't think it will become popular anytime soon. I may be very wrong, but I think most people are still too immature and think Allegra is a medicine. I don't think that opinion is going to suddenly change.
I'd say it's still safe to use. =D

I really like Allegra. It's not very common where I live. I don't know any and I haven't come across any in the library records.
trendy... seems kinda like a name phase sort of name that may date her at some point
I really dislike the sound of this name.
I would think the allergy medicine would deter it from getting commonly used.
