Re: Billy...
Usually for girls it's spelled Billie, as in Billie Holiday the jazz singer and actresses Billie Whitelaw and Billie Burke.Any feminine forms of William work well, like Wilhelmina ("willa-MEE-nuh") or Willa. Others:Belinda (We just had Belinda, nn Billie, in a thread yesterday. It belonged to a real little girl.)
Bilhah
Sibyl / Sibylla ("si-BILL-uh")
Annabel
Belphoebe
Cybele ("SIB-uh-lee")
Jubilee
Belen ("beh-LEN")
Abigail
Bertille (French feminine form of Bertil)
Mabel
Bithia
Arabella
Beryl
Blathnat / Blaithin ("BLAH-nut" / "blah-HEEN")(= little flower)
Christabel
Bidelia (although this is, in itself, a nn for Bridget)I know a lot of these have "bel" rather than "bil" in them. But to me nns are the place to get creative and whimsical. Could any of these work for you? Thanks.
