Andrea, Josephine, Maya
Replies
Andrea - I like it. It's one of those names that's pleasantly dated, and it has an athletic feel, too.
Josephine - Pretty. It's cute but still sophisticated. I like the French pronunciation a little better.
Maya - Don't like this spelling. It looks weird to me, I guess because I've never seen it spelled that way.
Andria - I actually went to high school with an Andria. I don't like spelling things differently.
Maia - The only Maia I've known spelled it this way, so to me this makes the most sense and looks best. I think it's kind of pretty. It's smart but has a bit of an exotic/artsy feel.

These are all names of close friends of mine (born 1978)!
I like the names Josephine and Maya the best. Josephine is classic and Maya is more modern/trendy.
I don't like the alternate spellings, sorry!

I like Andrea and Maya, spelled as you said.
There's a Portuguese variation of Andrea, which is Andreia (ann-DRAY-a), but I far prefer Andrea (which here is pronounced as ann-DRAY-a too.
Maya is beautiful. I think you might also like Inês (ee-NAYS, a Portuguese derivation of Agnes).
Don't like Josephine.
