Niece BA
My younger brother has said for months that his wife wanted to name their baby Delilah Lou. I can see some hipster appeal in that name, but it was a little hard to warm up to for my parents, who will always make the association with the negative Biblical character first.Well, the baby was born tonight, and they announced her name as Olivia Grace. Now I know that's a super-common first name and a very common combo, but I like that it still sounds classy, and everyone seems to be happy.

Pretty, but sort of bland. Would have rather seen Delilah.

Thanks to everyone for the congrats, by the way! I asked my sister-in-law if she had been planning to use Olivia Grace the whole time but was just putting us off with Delilah Lou, but she says Olivia Grace is something they had just thought of in the last several weeks, and it was supposed to be a "back up" name. Then she said when the baby was born it didn't look like a Delilah, and was "too stubborn" to be one. Everyone seems pretty pleased with the new name. Even though I know Olivia is very common for babies, I don't think the average person who is not around many babies realizes that at this point. Plus, their last name is a very difficult Slavic name, so something a tad straightforward is probably just as well.

I would have prefered Delilah Grace. Or Olivia Delilah. I like Delilah. And much more original than Olivia.

I like the name Delilah well enough, but the Olivia Grace combo is much nicer than Delilah Lou with its three L sounds.

Congrats and I like Olivia Grace way more than Delilah Lou.
