Boniface
This was one of the answers in a crossword my mum was doing yesterday and since then I haven't stopped thinking about it. I came across it years ago and thought it was horrible but I'm starting to like it.
I'm pronouncing it BAWN-ə-fəs. WDYT? "Bony face"? I'm not sure that it is usable and I don't even think that I should be liking this name, but I am.
Could it work as a first name? How about a middle name? Do you have any combo ideas?
Thank you.

It's very ecclesiastical! Often chosen by monks, unless they prefer to retain their own names.
I would never think of 'bony face', but I'm sure it would spring to mind in the park or the playground, and Bonny is an obvious nn and resolutely female.

I prefer the Croatian variant Bonifacije ('bo-nee-fah-cee-yeh'), the face part in Boniface bothers me.
Well I really adore this name! I think it would be so refreshing and nice to see a little Boniface! I think it could very much work as a first name.

Boniface is a name I would tempted to use too, because its a very old name attached to very old historical figures. Which I love.
That said, I am not sure how usable it is ... even if it does rock. Might be a good middle name or a first name with a good nn?
