Boniface
This was one of the answers in a crossword my mum was doing yesterday and since then I haven't stopped thinking about it. I came across it years ago and thought it was horrible but I'm starting to like it.I'm pronouncing it BAWN-ə-fəs. WDYT? "Bony face"? I'm not sure that it is usable and I don't even think that I should be liking this name, but I am.Could it work as a first name? How about a middle name? Do you have any combo ideas?Thank you.

It's very ecclesiastical! Often chosen by monks, unless they prefer to retain their own names.I would never think of 'bony face', but I'm sure it would spring to mind in the park or the playground, and Bonny is an obvious nn and resolutely female.

I prefer the Croatian variant Bonifacije ('bo-nee-fah-cee-yeh'), the face part in Boniface bothers me.

Well I really adore this name! I think it would be so refreshing and nice to see a little Boniface! I think it could very much work as a first name.Boniface Eleazer
Boniface Tarquin
Boniface Anslem
Boniface Maxwell
Boniface William

Boniface is a name I would tempted to use too, because its a very old name attached to very old historical figures. Which I love. That said, I am not sure how usable it is ... even if it does rock. Might be a good middle name or a first name with a good nn?
