Somerled
Today's name of the day is Somerled. I've been liking it lately. I'm considering it as a possible middle name for a boy. WDYT?Also, what are your thoughts on Mireia for a girl? What impression do you have of it?

I've liked Somerled for quite a few years.
I think it has great middle name potential. Not as crazy about Mireia. Doesn't sound very original to me.

Somerled? I dunno, it sounds like a last name and I thought it was a girl name at first. As a MN on a boy it's fine, I guess.Mireia is pretty, too. It sounds otherworldly, sort of. Mireille sounds a lot more dainty and petite.

I think Somerled is great! I very much agree with Bear's description of it. I get that image from it too. Except my Somerled is secretly an expert swordsman. :)I'm not really digging Mireia. The sound is alright, but it reminds me of Mirena.

I love love love Somerled. I love its meaning. I think it sounds handsome and heroic.Mireia is ok. It seems a bit fashionable (not 'trendy' as such). I prefer it to Mireille, that does seem a bit more trendy along with other french names/words like Soleil or Jolie.

I tend to trip over Scottish names though I love the way Somerled looks. Middle name, I say, go for it!! I like the satisfying, not-the-run-of-the-mill middle names. They make me smile everytime ^_^Mireia? Growing on me though I'm not sure what the correct pronounciation would be. mee-RAY-ah, perhaps?

Yes, it's pronounced mee-RAY-ah, but with my accent, it sounds more like meer-AY-a when I say it.

Somerled is very fetching. The combos Eric Somerled and Hector Somerled came into my head last week. Somerled brings to my mind a medieval young man in a summer field. Very wholesome.Mireia / Mireille is very pretty. Mireia gives me an exotic, mysterious feeling, as if music is being borne in on the wind. (Odd, I know.) Mireille (close pronunciation) feels more sophisticated and high fashion; more urban.

Eric Somerled is a great combo. That's such a pretty description of the feeling that Mireia gives you. I really like Mireille as well.
