rather unappealing... Just plain Joel is ok on a boy and Joelle is pretty on a girl, but Joely is confusing as to which one's referring to (esp. for those of us who have no idea who Joely Richardson is). Plus, it sounds similar enough to Jolie that someone might think one was playing around w/ a famous person's name and trying to be trendy.

I like Joel for a boy, but Joely has always looked unfinished to me, as if it was trying to be Joelly or maybe Jolie and hadn't quite made it.

It's cute and spunky. Pretty, too.

I dislike it. I think Joelle is a nicer feminization of Joel and if you like the sound then Jolie is more visually pleasing.

On a side note DBF's name is Joel and his sister and I call him "little Joely" when we're picking on him so that could be why I dislike it for a girl as I can't take it seriously.
