Claudia
I've never really given Claudia much thought until now. It sounds lilting and strong with my ponderous Italian surname; it's reminiscent of the classical world (I'm a burgeoning classicist); and it's recognizable without being tiresomely common. I think I like it! Thoughts?(N.B. I'm not bothered by the name's meaning -- in fact, I think it gives it character.)What do you think of these combinations?Claudia Beatrice

I know a Claudia, she has a three year old daughter named Paula Sofia whom I absolutely adored. Definitely made me rethink my opinion on the name Paula. Claudia is a very vibrant, lively woman so that's what I think of when I see the name. I like:Claudia Briseis
Claudia Cecile (Oops! Lame and blind?) - It's still pretty minus the meaning but perhaps too much for a child's name
Claudia Delphine
Claudia Elinor
Claudia Josephine
Claudia Lucille
Claudia Mairead
Claudia Mathilde
Claudia Pearl
Claudia Primrose
Claudia Rosabel
Claudia Rosalie
Claudia Rosamond
Claudia Rosamund
Claudia Rosemarie
Claudia Rosemary
Claudia Rosemonde - I love Rose- names too much
Claudia Sibyl - Sibylla would be pretty too
Claudia Violet

I don't really like its meaning and thus wouldn't do that to a child.

My comment on the "thoughts" question should explain why I had nothing to say on the combos.

I love Claudia for all the reasons you mentioned. I especially like it for its strong Roman roots and I have also loved Claudio (despite its meaning). Claudia Beatrice stood out for me.
