Dashiel / Dashiell
I never really paid attention to this name until about 2 weeks ago. Once I stopped to notice it, I found it very handsome. Now it's on my short list.
I prefer the Dashiel spelling because it looks "less soft" that way.
Anway..
WDYT of Dashiell / Dashiel ?
WDYT of these combos?
Dashiel Truett
Dashiel Vincent
ETA: I pronounce it DASH-ul

My son is Dashiell, I prefer that spelling, maybe because of the association with Dashiell Hammett, not that I'm much of a Hammett fan, but the association does give the name Dashiell that kind of hip, literate kind of a feel. Doing an alternate spelling kinda makes it less... less of a hipster name and more of a trendee name. Sorry...
I didn't know there were any other pronunciations of Dashiell, it's always been Dash-ul for us, like Dashiell Hammett, no one's ever mispronounced my son's name.

I love Dashiell (I prefer the two Ls.) I'd definitely use it. I think the nickname Dash is adorable, and the full name is handsome.
I pronounce it the same way you do.
Dashiell Vincent is nice.

Right away, I think of the author Dashiell Hammett. Imo that's a good thing. :)
The only reason I personally wouldn't use the name is that it doesn't have a known meaning. I'm a sucker for names with interesting meanings.
