I don't think it's too dated. Meaning, it's not 40's and 50's dated. It's not one of those names that need another forty or fifty years to seem appealing again. Neither do I think that it's spineless. It might be considered edgy and to have vintage appeal. I also appreciate the fact that it's a very old name, in use during The Middle Ages.
