Interesting medieval French sibset
Found some of my family in an old book today, including sisters Péronelle, Melchiore, Guyotte and Hiéronimette. I'm quite liking Péronelle and Guyotte, wdyt?

Oh, what an interesting sibset! How far back does it come from?Péronelle is pretty, unfortunately it is now a term referring to a silly young woman, so I could hardly see it used again. I had never seen Guyotte before. Hiéronimette is my favourite.

They were all born in the mid-1400s. That's really interesting about Péronelle - according to this site's database, the English version Parnel was also a negative term in the Middle Ages. Hiéronimette is indeed awesome - such a great find. :)

Ooo, those are quite pretty. Melchiore must be a feminine form of Melchior. Peronelle is really sweet. Guyotte looks like its a feminine version of Guy and Hieronimette a feminine form of Hieronymus. I really adore the latter.

Mmh, I think Melchiore is still masculine, it's probably just a spelling variant. But I agree about Hieronimette, it's great!

WOW.
Peronelle is definitely a favorite of mine, and Hieronimette and Melchiore? Amazing...though I'm not so sure I like Guyotte.
