Wouldn't use it myselfWell maybe for a really sunny person in a story. Or if they were born in Summer I would consider using it as a middle name maybe.

I think it's a lovely name! It was one of my favorites when I was a child.

I don't mind Summer at all if the child is born in the summer months, I think it's the prettiest of all the season months. Just don't use the mn Eve. ;-)

I used to dislike it but now I'm ok with it, though probably I wouldn't use it.Summer's my favourite season too, but namewise I prefer Winter and Autumn.

I really do not warm to season names, month names etc at all. That said, there's a woman who does wonderful embroidery of various kinds and blogs about it. Her name is Summer Louise Surname, and I do think that Summer Louise sounds wonderful together; to my regret, she is known as Summer! And she has named her own children Madeline and Victoria, and I think Travis; so perhaps 'way-out' skips a generation.

I think it's beautiful. Love it! If I had a Summer, I'd nickname her Sunny. (Since it's sunny in the summer)

Summer seems really dated to me. Summer is probably my least favorite season too. I used to know a Summer when I used to go to Church. She was tall and had long blonde hair and I think she got into some kind of trouble and had a baby pretty young. She was always nice to me though.

I have always loved it, even though I dislike the season. I agree it's warm and joyful. But for some reason, I prefer the spelling Somer. Somer makes me think of a name that a nineteenth-century woman would have, because it was a family surname, if that makes sense. But even though I prefer Somer, I still really like Summer.
