Some Welsh names
I would like to maybe use some Welsh names, atleast as middle names, since there is family background in Wales.
What do you think of these two (both female), are they usableCeridwen (the name of a Celtic goddess of poetry, means "blessed poetry")
Myfanwy (means "my woman")

I love Welsh names for their meanings and their flowing sounds. However, the pronunciation is a challenge and I hate the thought of a child's name being butchered throughout her lifetime. Ceridwen is lovely, though I'm not even sure how to pronounce it (though I know I've seen it before). Myfanwy just looks like "my fanny" and makes me giggle. My favorite Welsh name is Carys (means "with love").

I'm from South Wales in the UK and one of my favourite names is Seren. It's still unusual over here and not used much yet...!
It means "star".what do you think.

SerenI like Seren, it is simpler than Ceridwen and Myfawny. And it is similar to Serena, another name I like."You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed."

I like them! Their both unusual and have feminine meanings/namesakes! My problem is that they're so unusual that they might not have a happy childhood. Give the kid a common/pretty first name like Alyssa or Lauren, and use Ceridwen or Myfanwy as a middle name._________________________________________________

I like Ceridwen is nice and so is Myfanwy but I like the spelling Myffanwy better. My favorite Welsh girl's name is Bronwyn or Branwen. :)Image hosted by Photobucket.com

My biological family is of Welsh descent so I really dig Welsh names, too. I love Ceridwen, but Myfanwy would be a little too Welsh for me to personally use, if you know what I mean. :o) However, if you & your SO agree on using Welsh mns, then I say go for it!
