Boyd or Bernard?
These names are both family names we have considered using. The reactions of friends have ranged wildly. Which one do you prefer? And do you have a reason for liking or disliking one or both? Thanks.
P.S. If it helps you decide, he would be the brother of Peter.

I like both, but prefer Bernard. Maybe it's because I know someone with this surname (a Seth) who rocks (and sometimes people call him Bernard) or maybe it's because it seems to have more 'body'. I think it goes better with Peter. On the down side, I can hear the "barnyard" teasing already.
Boyd, on the other hand...well, no negatives. Just like Bernard better.
Bernard
Maybe it's because they're both saints, but it seems to go much better with Peter to me.

Bernard!
Well
It depends on the look that interests you - I can see both names working and both have charm. Peter and Boyd are like two country brothers; sturdy, steady and cheery. Peter and Bernard are fine young gents who enjoy going out on the town, art, and wearing fancy boots.
I find Bernard to be charmingly adorable myself, though I could never use it. Also Pete and Bernie is way cuter than Pete and Boydie. :)
