Lillian or Lilia?
I love both, but not sure which one I like better. Nickname would be Lily/Lilly no matter the choice.
Lillian-older fashioned like Rosemary. Meaning is a bit more unknown, is it a dimunitive of Elizabeth or an elaborated form of Lily?
Lilia-prettier to me and light and airy, but the way I've ALWAYS heard it pronounced I've found out that some people think is wrong and absurd. (I pronounce it lily-uh_
Also-is there any difference between Lilian and Lillian? Lillia or Lilia or Lilyah?
Thanks!

I prefer Lilian to either Lillian or Lilia. I think people would tend to hear Lilia as Lilian. The extra L does nothing, and chopping off the N does nothing either.
If I may play with your list for a moment: Beatrice Lilian Iris? Caroline Elspeth Lilian? Lilian Lucy Maud?

Lilian Lucy Maud is cute!
Maybe, but I would most likely just call a Lillian/Lilia by the name Lily.
As a sister to Rosemary I'd prefer Lillian, but I personally like Lilia better. I actually really love the name tbh. I always pronounce it as Lily-ah too and that's the way I've heard it as well. I mean, how else are you supposed to say it? Also, I was watching the movie "The Ten Commandments", as I do from time to time and there is a Lilia in the movie, said the way we pronounce it. Every time I watch the movie, it gives me a fresh love for the name.

LEE-lee-ah would be the German pronunciation and could also be the Russian / Ukrainian one, not sure though. This makes more sense to us, as the name is derived from the word for lily (we say Lilie) which is also pronounced with an 'ee' sound instead of 'i': LEE-lee-ə. Plus, almost all European languages (English is an exception here) pronounce an a (even at the end of a word) as 'ah', never 'uh' or 'ə'.

See in my accent, ah and uh are almost identical. I have to reeeeally strain to hear any difference.
And that makes sense that you would pronounce it with how you say Lily with an ah at the end. That's what I do too, I just pronounce Lily differently than you.

Oh, I didn't know that 'uh' and 'ah' is almost the same in your accent. My mouth is wide open when I say 'ah', if that helps ;)
Thanks! That's my thing too, I love Lily and don't care about the cheesiness of Rosy and Lily. Just I like Lilia better, but Lillian fits better with Rosemary. Well no baby in the works for a long time, so I have plenty of time to decide!
I heard that the correct pronunciation was lee-lee-uh or something like that...not sure about that, but I love lily-uh!

I say Lilia. I like either pronunciation, and I think Lily is a lot better than Lilly. Lilian or Lilyah would work too, but Lilia is simpler.
Thanks!
