Luke
What do you think of Luke, as a nn for Lucas?
Would you consider it popular?
What sort of person does it bring to mind?

Honestly I am much more fond of Luke as a first name than I am Lucas. I'd use Luke on the birth certificate. If it had to be Lucas, I'd rather it be spelled Lukas. It looks stronger.

My brother is named Lucas nn Luke so it seems very natural to me. He is studying to be a master architect and is quite handsome, caring and responsible. Great dad and smashing sense of humor...

I love love love the name Luke, alone or as a nickname for Lucas. I especially like it as a short form for the French pronunciation of Lucas, which I think is one of the loveliest boys' names out there.I would consider it fairly popular, it's used commonly in mainstream books, movies and other media (eg, Luke Skywalker), and I've known maybe two or three Lukes personally in my lifetime. One was named Lucas, nn Luke. For me, it brings to mind a generally good person. Polite and possibly sporty, but probably intelligent. It feels noble, perhaps a little stubborn, but loyal.

It's OK. Not great, and Lucas I don't know reminds me of cold sores, probably because I knew a Lucas with cold sores. I don't like -cas at the end of names.

I love, love Luke, I don't like it as a nn though, just on it's own.I don't think I'd consider it popular, atleast not around here.It kind of reminds me of a boy with brown hair that doesn't talk alot, but when he does, he says something really sweet.

I'd say it's popular, since I have several peers with that name. I like it, but it's kind of bland. It makes me think of a kind of silly guy, I guess.
