Sweet! I love the name (my favourite combo is Amelia Poppy). Amalia is also a good choice as is the French Amelie. I suppose you can say I'm in love with Amelia no matter what form it takes! Lol.

I think that this name has great connotations, i.e. Amelia Earhart, however I am not a fan of the name itself. I think that, like Abigail, it's a bit dowdy, though dowdy is very 'in' now.

I absolutely love the name Amelia! It is one that will fit a person from the day she is born to the day she dies. A name that will surely stand the test of time.

I thought I liked it until I read the meaning from Amalia: To work.

I don't like the way Amelia sounds. It just doesn't flow off my tongue well. That's the only complaint I have about it.

Amelia is lovely, what is there not to like? Soft and feminine and many nn options too (Amy, Mia, Mellie, Lia, Mia, Mimi).

It's lovely! I do prefer Amalia, but I like Amelia a lot too. I love the nickname Lia!

My friend is a medical student and she told me that amelia is a condtion where a baby is born with no arms, or something like that (maybe someone with medical knowledge can clarify...?) So that kinda ruins the name for me!
