I like Dru as a nickname for Drusilla. Drusilla has an unfortunate stereotype, it's about time to break it.

I prefer it on a boy though. I dislike Drusilla/Drusila and the spelling Dru looks really odd to me.

Drew for a girl is okay -- but it makes me automatically think of Drew Barrymore.

Dru as a nn for Drusilla is a bit nicer because 1. I like the name Drusilla and 2. Drew alone seems incomplete.

Drusila needs an extra 'l.'

In spite of Drew Barrymore, I don't like Drew for a girl. To me, it's totally masculine as a nickname for Andrew. My son-in-law Andrew is often called Drew (though never by my daughter or myself), so I just can't think of it as a girl's name.

In spite of the fact that I feel that there are better names out there than mine, I am at least glad that my name is feminine, and that I was born well before the "masculine names for girls" style became current.

I really like Drew and Dru for a girl (but don't like them at all for a boy) but I really don't like Drusilla unfortunately. I think Drew could stand on its own though
