I like it a lot, but for some reason I am really seeing it as a boy's name rather than a girl's name, I don't know what it is, it's like a magical mix of Lewis and Levi and Ira Levin or something and I am really digging that. Also curiously i am not seeing the jokey, almost disrespectful side to this word-name that others are seeing but instead I immediately thought of levitation, like in a creepy Victorian-Seance kind of way. It has a super Tim Burton-esque creepy-kooky feeling to it. Unnervingly silly, because it has the sharp pointy beginning and chuckling ending. Awesome.

It's cool -- has a very bright, clean sound. I personally like Verity better. It has a nice meaning and the same lovely sound.

I like it. I don't think I'd ever use it, but I like it. In a very GP kind of way.

And her brother Gravity? Nah.

dittoThough pretty much anything goes with mns as far as I'm concerned, if she dislikes it she can be First Name L. Surname and everyone'll assume it's Lynn or Louise.

I don't think so.I think levity has a sort of negative connotation, like, joking around, inappropriate unseriousness, irreverence, frivolousness ... not really the kind of thing worthy of a name, to me anyway. Something like Goodhumor or Laughter would be more appropriate IMO. I guess it could be, like, deliberately irreverent, in a good way, to use Levity as a name? Maybe I'm thinking too hard. Anyway, I say nay because I wouldn't want it as a name. Has a namey sound, though, if you like -ity virtues as names.
