"Sadie" as a nickname for "Satan"?
It just came to me as this odd little non sequitur. Could Satan have been known affectionately as "Sadie"?
Replies
Only by some damned American ... otherwise he'd be Satie ...
And "Didi" for Hades
Hades always liked the pet name "Didi".

and Fifi for Mephistopheles, I suppose
Chi-chi for Chernobog
A fairly mysterious Slavic deity most famous for his appearance in "Fantasia", in "Night on Bald Mountain".
He also goes by Boggie, No-No, Nonnie, Cherie, and Cher.
Egyptian Underworld god Babi goes by Babs, Bibi, or just Babe.
Likewise Egyptian demon Apep goes by Ap-ap, Peppie, and Pepe.

Couldn't you also call him Haden?
It's the new, "tryndee" spelling of Haydn or Hayden!

In HP fanfiction, Hermione once called the Malfoy men...
Dracula, son of Lucifer! (that instead of Draco, son of Lucius)
What names can we give Hermione? Hermy, Hermes, My-knee, Hermy-own, Her-me-own-ee, Mione, Mia, Maia, Mya, Herman, Bookworm, Messenger Farmer (that's what Hermione Granger means), Mudblood Granger, etc.
As for Draco, besides Dracula, I've seen him called Drake before, Drakey-Poo, etc.

I never heard that
I very much doubt it. He has been known as Old Nick though.
And "Domhnaill Dubh" ("Black Donald") in Gaelic.
Well, Voldemort is sometimes affectionately known as...
Voldy, Mouldy-shorts...
Anyway, it's possible.

Don't forget "Mortie" for Voldemort; he loves it!
And Lord Sauron from Lord of the Rings is sometimes lovingly called
Mr. Sours, Ron-Ron, Sweet-'n-Saur... so yes, why not?

Who is Lord Sauron?
Ron-Ron makes it sound like a pseudonym for Ronald Weasley, who is also called that...and also Won-Won, Ickle-Ronniekins, Weaselby, Roonil Wazlib, etc.

From the Lord of the Rings, Sauron is the Dark Lord.
Cool.
I love LOTR.
Hey wait...was he originally Gandalf's friend? If so, then I thought his name was Solomon (because of that LOTR caused me to love that name)...well, they're both very solemn and for that I love them.

No, Sauron is a disembodied spirit.
Saruman is a wizard, like Gandalf. He is corrupted by Sauron.

Actually, there are a couple of articles on Encyclopedia of Arda that make a very good, well supported case for Sauron being able to take some sort of physical form.
And no, Anthro, you've got the wrong maiar there.

Actually, that was Saruman; Sauron was embodied only as the fiery eye.
Of course, with an English accent like mine, it makes no sense.
Satan is said with a hard T, not like a D.
Satan 'Satie' perhaps.

Who knows?
