Octavia
OctaviaI don't know why, but this is one of my favorite names. Do you like it pronounced ahk-tay-vee-ah or ahk-tav-ee-ah? I go back and forth. What are your thoughts on the name?

I love Octavia - only pronounced "ock-tay-vee-uh." It's among my top girl names. It's a strong, beautiful name.

I'd say tay-vee-ah. It looks pretty and there's something appealing about it, but when I put it with a common surname - like, say, Jones - it does sound a bit stuck up. Tavy is quite a nice nn, though.

Oct-tav-e-uh.

Tay, not tav. I find it rather pretentious.

I love Octavia. I say Ok-tay-vee-ah. I used to have who studied Classics and she adored the name, she swore she'd name her first daughter Octavia. I lost contact with her but I heard later she did have a daughter. I was disappointed when I found out she called her Rebecca. Nice enough name but it's not Octavia.

I pronounce it ahk-tay-vee-ah because the person who I know with that name pronounces it that way. [This is one of the coolest names I've seen in real life, next to Persephone and Lucifer. Persephone and Lucifer are in a sibset, while Octavia is in a different family.] :) It is a nice name: strong, but elegant. Surprisingly, it fits nicely for a real person.
