I love them both. I also have German heritage and think certain German names rock. Anders and Johann are two of them. IMO they're a great way to honor your heritage plus they're well-known enough to not cause the bearer any trouble (well, Johann might get called Joanne I guess, but where you live I would think people would be familiar enough with the name).
