Wow, that's so weird.
Every time I bring up the name Naomi to a friend (it's one of my all-time favorites), they're always like, "That's such a weird name! I've never heard that on anybody!" Sort of the exact opposite of what you say. :P I'm curious how you came to regard it as boring and safe.

Yeah, it is weird for me too, because it's not like I know piles of people named Naomi either - maybe somewhere in the depths of my childhood I met a really boring Naomi and the association stuck? It's just always seemed like such a lackluster name for me. It is just not pleasing to me at all, can't explain it!

I can't speak for New_Chloe, but I personally know at least four Naomi's. It's a fairly common, boring name to me as well.Naomi has never once left the most popular names in the US list in the 129 years that are listed and has almost always been in the top 300 with a few years of it being in the 400s. It's number 118 on the popularity list in 2008, so it really is quite common. Any name that is this commonly used will be looked at as boring and safe by some people (myself included). That's not necessarily a bad thing though. I like a few boring/safe names as well. :)
