Aaralyn
I came across this on the Internet, a feminine version of Aaron. I suppose it would be pronounced 'Ar-a-lin', or with a US Accent, 'Er-a-lin'.
It's painfully trendy, so I'd never dream of using it, but I can't help a guilty liking for it. WDYT?

Aaralyn doesn't even look like a fem. form of Aaron imo. To be blunt, it just looks like a jumble of letters tossed together with the trendy, overused, and meaningless -lyn suffix to me.
I would prefer the admittedly somewhat contrived Aarona. I would think it would nevertheless be the closest to what a Jewish parent would do to feminise Aaron, at least.

I like the way it sounds but I dislike the spelling. I prefer Aralyn by a long shot, but I like just Ara even better I think.
cute name
I would pronounce it "Air-uh-lin". (I'm from the US) I rather like it too *embarrassed face*

Aaralyn by itself isn't "trendy", it's still quite a rare name.
Perhaps you mean that you think it was created in a "trendy" way?

You're right, it's more the style that stuck me as trendy. Mind you (and this is just me kidding myself), the "lyn" trend doesn't really exist here. Gracelyn etc. are American coinages.

I have a friend who knows a girl named Aara, which has been growing on me lately--it's an acquired taste, I think. Aaralyn probably won't do the same for me.
You know what I do like, though? Aralin. Much more stream-lined, and I do really like the sound of Aaralyn/Aralin. I had a male character named Aralin Orpheus, and because he hated his name, he went by Rally.
So I suppose if you're going to have a guilty pleasure, I'm going down with you!

It sounds quite pretty but I'm becoming bored with the whole take a random name and take lyn on the end to make it feminine trend. The only lyn name I like is Evelyn.
