Naphtali
Yep, another "Hebrew chic" name...WDYT? Is it too reminiscent of naphtaline? I wouldn't use it, but I find it cool.

Honestly, naphtalene is the first thing I thought about... it also reminds me of a pokemon for some reason. But I like the li ending.
I adore Hebrew names...
and I find the "Hebrew chic" phrase really funny. :P so many Hebrew names seem to be HATED on this board, with the exception of Zipporah (a favorite of mine). I probably would use Naftali (with that spelling), maybe call him Nate for short. I already plan to use Mordecai.
I didn't even think of naphthalene until you brought it up. I don't think most other people would, either.

I don't even know what naphtaline is. *Embarrassed*
I too find Naphtali rather cool. A little boy with this name could go by Nat.

He could also go by Tal.
This is the name my cousin named her 2nd daughter. It's nms
I don't find it attractive, especially not as it's masculine. I just generally don't like Hebrew names.
I like it. On a girl.
I have always liked it, but until a few years ago assumed it was feminine. It's hard to shake that association from my head, and it reminds me of Natalie. I think it would be a beautiful female name.
oh!
Me too! I didn't realize it wasn't feminine until just right this second. I agree - it would be a lovely girl's name.

I like it really but I wouldn't use it because of the sad history... Sad IMO anyway...
