Diamond
What do you think of the name Diamond for a girl?

I don't like it at all. I don't consider it a name, really. It's not feminine-sounding at all, but it's more than ridiculous on a boy.
I'd probably shudder if I saw it on a child.

if you like it, if it is special to you, use it.
i wouldn't use it though....

I only know one Diamond. She's a college senior, very sweet. Her mother is from Puerto Rico so I was surprised at first that she chose a name so "hard" (for lack of a better word). Diamond's not my thing. I'm not opposed to word names in general; I just don't care for this one. Now Diamante would be more to my liking.

I think it's kind of trashy/tacky sounding, as I do with any unconventional gemstone name. I went to high school with a girl named Diamond who didn't help change my impression of it.
I like it. Not sure how or why. It seems more understated than it should, given that it could be thought of as sort of a bling name. Maybe I just like the sounds in it. I dunno. I wouldn't use it myself, but my style is pretty narrow as it turns out.

It's a bit of a GP for me, I kinda like it but I find it a bit stripperish.
I think it sounds more like a boy. I might use it as a girl character's mn, but not a fn and not in real life.
Diamond.
Not the worst name ever, but it is not my style at ALL. The one situation I thought of where it might be cute is in a m/f sibset, with the girl named Diamond and the boy named Desmond. But honestly, it just sounds tacky to me. How about Dinah? And with the astoundingly large selection of girls names out there, I can't see myself ever using it, even if I had 15 kids and they were all girls.
This is just my opinion though, and if you like a name, you should stick up for it and not care what other people think. My favorite name is Cecilia, and even if it made everyone in the world vomit upon reaching their ears, I would still name my daughter that.
Good luck!

I really like it, I find it really pretty and striking. At one of the cafeterias at my university there is a tall and very beautiful cashier whose name is Diamond, and though I have never spoken to her I find her very impressive.
It's a little tacky. It reminds me of the kind of names used by those girls on Maury who don't know who the father of their baby is.
Sorry, repeated.

One of my friends has this name. I think it's unique and beautiful, but it's not really my style... Maybe for a middle name.
I think it's interesting, but the last thing I would do was use it, sorry. :/
It would be awesome for a story character.
