Yes, I do know that.

Re:I wasn't implying you didn't, just that the association's too obvious. I really can't imagine this as a person's name.

Re:I don't think it is bad, with the abundance of Genevas, Londons, Parises, Florences, Montanas, Dakotas, and maybe even the occasional Vienna.I think I'd rather hear a Zurich than any of those, though I do like Geneva.

Re:Right but you don't like those and yet you're categorising Zurich with them. I mean if you like it you like it, but you have to be aware that other people are going to put them in the same group as Geneva and London and Paris and Florence and Montana and Dakota and Vienna.

agreeI'd rather see a Zurich than a Brooklyn, Montana or Dakota. It's more interesting.

GP only?I think it is a nice GP but I'd hesitate to use a non-English city with English pronunciation as a given name. To the residents of Zurich/Zürich, the child's name would sound mispronounced.

Yes, it is a GP. To anglofy and be less suggestive of the city, you could always drop the h. Zuric.

True. Zuric is better.

I think: coolI'd use it. It's hip. It's like Ulric. But with a Z. Which only adds an element of cool.

Yes, and you could also spell it Zuric :)

It just makes me think of the city, it doesn't feel like a person's name.

i think it's kinda cool!

Yes, quite good.

It's okay, but how do you pronounce it?
