Ari
I've suddenly really started to like the name Ari for a boy. Plus, I love all three meanings. WDYT?

I like it on its own, but like Ylva, I'd be afraid it would be assumed to be a nn for something hideous like Aristotle.

It seems a little nickname-y to me, but Ariel on a boy might get teased these days, unfortunately. But I do like Ari, and I definitely prefer it on a boy. BTW, I like the meanings, too.

Very nice, and it does have great meanings : )I found somewhere that it may also mean "Bear" in Albanian & Hawaiian. And also "Bee" in Turkish. However I have also found the latter meaning as the spelling Ary, so I'm really not 100% certain about either of those meanings.

Lion, eagle and braveYes, I like the meanings and the name itself.Only drawback is that people might think Ari is short for a longer name. Or even short for a female name. I have gathered that the culture is very macho in USA; therefore parents are afraid of giving their sons any name which is even remotly girly-sounding (these are the best boy's names imo). Arvid (eagle tree) is popular in Sweden, though I think few think of the meaning."You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed."

I don't really like it as a boy's name...I guess it's because I knew a girl named Ari, which was short for Arianne.

Well, I'm biased, it's my brother's name, so of course I like it. But yes, they're all great meanings :)

I had never seen this name, and when I saw it I assumed it was a girl name. It reminds me of Alli, Abbie, etc... You know, all the short two syllable nn of girls.
Anyway, I love the meanings, but not the name so much

I like Ari for a girl, as a nn for Arianna or Arielle. :)

In my country you can find this name, including the spelling Arie, as a nickname for Adriaan. :) I myself think it's a bit old-fashioned, so I don't like it. ;)

Love it. It's a great name and I agree that all three meanings are good.

I love it! It has been a long time favourite of mine (although it hasn't been in my Top 10 for awhile). Yes, I love all the meanings too, such a positive and strong name, you can't go wrong!

I like it. I always thought it was short for something but now I see that it isn't. Great meanings too.
