WDYTO Marielle, Mariella, Eve and the nicknames Elle, Ella, and Mari?
I finished the first draft of my novel about a month ago and now I need to rename one of the four main characters, Cecilia who went by Celia because I'm worried her name is too similar to her little sister, Calla's and also because I discovered there is a band with her name Cecilia Winter in it.I was thinking of using Mariella with the nickname Ella, but I'm worried that Ella might be too similar to Calla and to a lesser degree their sister who they have not seen for years, Delilah who goes by Lilah. Also the name Ella reminds me of a five year old while my character is fifteen and sixteen in my novel. I was thinking maybe I could name her Marielle and have her go by Elle instead, but a problem I have with that is her last name is Winter. Elle sounds like the Spanish word El so her name sounds like the winter but I might be able to get over that.I'm also considering Eve. Usually she would go by Eve but sometimes and in flashbacks she could go by Evie. Eve is a religious name which normally can be a problem since my novel takes place in a fantasy world, but Eve is also kind of a nature names which are popular in Levansha. So what do you think of Marielle, Mariella, Eve, Mari Elle, and Ella? I'm not sure if I want Mari to rhyme with sorry or not. Also if you know any more nicknames for Marielle and Mariella.

I have a friend by the name of Mariel. She doesn't have a nick name. I like Ellie though.

I can't use Ellie because it's my grandmother's nickname.

I like Marielle the best. nicknames could be... Ariel\Arielle, Ellie, Mars, Ria, and maybe Marie.
Or going with the "Elle" you could try Elenore which has Elle, Lennie, Lenore and Nora. It has the same feel to it as Celia and Cecelia.Hope this helped!
