I say it more like Fray-uh than Fray-ya. I know one person named Freya although I'm not sure how its spelt - I'm pretty sure I've seen her spell it both Fraya and Frejya.
I slightly prefer Freya, but Freja is also very nice. I don't think it will be commonly mispronounced/misspelt - people will learn very quickly how to spell and say it and I don't believe the godess of beauty thing will be a problem at all. I highly doubt the majority of the population (esp. kids who are most likely to do the teasing) would know that Freya is the goddess of beauty.
All in all its a lovely name :)
