Well, both Paulina and Emil are international names and those are all the rage here at the moment.
I think Paulina is more used from Spanish (Mexican soaps are popular here and names like Marisol, Rikardo or Karlos pop up more and more).
As for Emil, it's a character in a popular Croatian children's book and also Emilia was quite popular 30 years ago, so it might be honoring in some cases. Not to mentioned that we have a large number of emigrants in Germany, Austria, Switzerland who might use it.
