I like the French pronunciation also, as in Albert Camus.

It's too old-fashioned and nerdy for me, as are a lot of -bert names.

I love Albert. My sister, who is pregnant, also loves this name, but unfortunately it is their cat's name, so I don't they'll be using it for a son. "Albert" is also my 18 month old niece's favorite word to say because she loves that cat so. Whenever she sees any kind of animal she points at it and asks "Ah-ber?" It's precious. So that's what I think of lately when I hear Albert, but I also think it's a solid, stately name that would be darling on a little boy and handsome on a grown man.

I have a strong appreciation for Albert. Such a great underused name, though I do greatly prefer the French pronunciation. I adore Alberta as well.

I like Alfred only slightly more, but Albert is glorious. The nickname Albie is too cute not to use. I knew an Albert, he was hilarious. I highly recomend this name. What would you combo it with?
