Ellen. I have a good friend named Ellen and I've always found it an elegant name whereas I really can't stand Ella. It's very possible that Ellen could make a comeback in the next few years but I really don't know. I think of it as being in the top 200 somewhere I suppose, it'd be odd if it was any lower. I can see why it would sound dated but I've grown up with Ellen so it's just normal to me. I do not like Elle, Ellie or Ella as full names or as nicknames for that matter. I just really don't but I couldn't tell you why, they're just names I stay well away from.
