Kirsten/Kiersten/Kjerstin
This has slowly but surely found it's way to the top of my girls' list, and I'm still amazed it was able to do that. I remember when Kirsten Dunst first became popular when I was a kid, I actually grimaced when I heard her name on TV. Tastes really DO change.
Anyway, I love it now, and I was wondering which spelling you prefer. I like all three, but I'm afraid that Kirsten would constantly be misread as Kristen. Nothing wrong with Kristen, but that wouldn't be her name. Kiersten might solve the problem, but I think the spelling might look a bit silly. Kjerstin is the Norwegian spelling, so my husband loves it, but I'm thinking it might cause pronunciation/spelling problems.
So, WDYT? Oh, and what is your overall opinion of the name? Thanks, guys. :)

I prefer Kiersten or Kjerstin. Really, I like Kjerstin better, but I like Kiersten for the same reason you do. I also like the -in ending better than the -en ending, so that's another point for Kjerstin.
Kirsten would definitely be misread as Kristen. It's also mispronounced as "kur-stin" a lot, rather than "kyeer-stin."
Overall, I like the name but not enough to use. It's a nice name that I think ages well.

I think that's a name that will always be mis-read and mispronounced, so I say go for your favorite spelling. Personally, I like Kjerstin, but Kirsten is fine, too.
I'd go with Kirsten. I like it - it's short, pretty but not frilly, and easy to spell. Also, common enough that it's not going to look like a celeb-name, but not so common that it's boring.
In an English-speaking country, Kirsten will cause the least amount of confusion, so go for Kirsten.
I would avoid it: it still seems tacky and down-market to me. But, I haven't seen a young one for a long, long time!

It's strange how people can have completely different perceptions of names. Where I live, Kirsten is a rare enough name to not give off the tacky impression. In fact, the only one I've met was a five year old girl, and she came from a normal family.

It's very different where I live! Lucky you.
Kjerstin is my fave.
People will have to ask how to prn it so you wont have a problem with (kirr vs Keer).
