Valentina
What do you think of Valentina for a girl? Too long? Too frilly?
I'm kind of scared it will get shortened to Tina or Val (which I hate). Do you think it will be hard to enforce Valentina? It has 4 syllables after all. I had the same worries with Alexandria. Do you know anyone who has such a long name yet is always called by his full name?
Do you know anyone named Valentina? Do you think it'll get common now that Salma Hayek used it? I see it's already rising. Top 100 material?
Do you prefer Valentina or Valentine? How do you pronounce Valentine? It used to be quite common in France pronounce -een at the end, but I really like the VAL-en-tine pronunciation. Opinions?

I like it but it is FAR too frilly for me and my long last name.
I love Valentina and I prefer it to Valentine. It's pretty, but I don't find it too long or frilly. I don't think it will get common. I will say Valentine both ways, but I like the sound of the French pronunciation better.
I loooove Valentina, but like you, I'm worried about the nicknames which I really don't like. But that wouldn't stop me from using it, although I'd prob use it as a middle name.
I like Valentina and yes, it'll probably get more popular (I think another celebrity used it also, but can't remember who).
All Valentinas I know are my age and get called by their full name. But I have to point out that I'm from Croatia and full names are generally used, except if the person asks you otherwise. So anyone named Katarina, Valentina, Nikolina, Mihaela, Aleksandra, Branimira, etc. are called by their full name.
Valentine (-tine) is a male name to me, and I prefer Valentin (-teen) to it.
