I prefer Hayley. Hayleigh is too fussy, and Hayleen is too unsophisticated by far. Magdalene is streets ahead of all of them.My friend's mother came from a family with a tradition of giving children names starting with A-. I thought for years that she was the exception to that rule as her name seemed to be Eileen, but they'd used the Aileen spelling and the Eileen pronunciation. Maybe your great-grandmother made a similar decision?
