Carmine
Coworker and I were talking about babies last night; she and her husband are going to start TTC in January. If it's a boy, they'll name him Carmine. I can't remember the MN, though, sorry! Her grandfather's name was Carmine.
A girl will be Sophia Giada. They already have a (super adorable!) little girl called Gianna Marie.

For all the ethnic posturing of Italian Americans, they really seem to only care enough to uncover about five Italian names. You almost couldn't be more cliche than Giada and Gianna. I could probably grow to like Carmine and at least at first glance it is nice to see something a bit different.

Are they planning on prn it like "car mine" or like Carmen, or some other way? I can't say I like the name. Let's hope for a girl because Sophia Giada would make an elegant name.

From an Italian POV it's a very old-mannish, and somewhat working-class name. I can't imagine a Carmine under 65, I'm not surpised it's someone's grandfather's name.

I have a soft spot for Carmine even though it only makes me think of an overweight Italian mafia boss. Sophia Giada is nice.

Ew..Carmine is a red pigment made from boiling dried cochineal insects.
