Yes. I agree. I'm used to hearing Elise as, "eh-LEES." It's the "lees" part that irritates me. It's the same reason why I only like the German pronunciation of Anneliese instead of the usual "anna-LEES" over here.
Elise as "eh-LEE-zeh" is beautiful. (I hope I wrote that correctly.)

Yes, the "LEES" part irritates me too but I guess it has to as I'm German and to me Elise will always be eh-LEE-zə or eh-LEE-zeh. In an English speaking country I wouldn't use Elise but Eliza which I think is very pretty.
