Re: Karl Roch and Robert Peter
in reply to a message by Eilis
I've never heard of Roch before. Where does it come from? How is the "ch" pronounced? Like an airy "kh" in Scottish Lachlan, or exactly like it looks in English, a "ch" as in church? Is the "o" in Roch long ("oh") or short ("ah")? It reminds me of Roque, which I love. Not knowing how it's pronounced, it's a little difficult for me to say how I feel about Karl Roch. But Robert Peter really makes me smile. Both names are underappreciated, probably due to overuse in teh past. But they are both ready for a comeback, big time. Hmmm. Karl, Karsten, Casper Maximilian, Oscar, Oswald, Frederick, Ludwig. Am I detecting a Germanic / Anglo-Saxon trend for boys in the works? I hope so. Very handsome.
