Heidi is a cute name. I don't know anyone with this name personally though. Heidi Kate, Heidi Olivia, Heidi Sabrina, Heidi Louisa, Heidi Celeste, Heidi Charlotte, Heidi Rosalyn, Heidi Abigail, Heidi Veronica, Heidi Matilda, Heidi Miriam and Heidi Emmeline are all nice. Ella is also a nice name, but very popular. Heidi Ella would be a sweet combo.
I knew a Heidi growing up. She was an older girl in my school that I remember admiring often because she looked so warm and cozy and friendly, and I wished I could be older so I could know her. She was a few years older than me, So I bet she's around thirty now. I never knew another Heidi since then, and I remember thinking how neat her name was.
I enjoy the name. It's such a homey sound and I associate it with hearty, cool-weather sweetness. Like a really soft sweater or blanket.

I like the name Heidi. I can think of 4 people named Heidi. Two are in their 30's and the other two are in their early 20's.
Ella is way too popular, and I don't really care for the sound of it.
Heidi combos:
Heidi Alexandra
Heidi Simone
Heidi Victoria
Heidi Rebecca
Heidi Veronica
Heidi Miranda
Heidi Meredith
Heidi Natasha
Heidi Susannah / Susanna
Heidi Gwendolyn / Gwendolen
Heidi Evelyn
Heidi Madeline
Heidi Amelia
Heidi Vanessa
Heidi Isabel / Isabelle
Heidi Camille
Heidi Eleanor

Well I would have to say I have a good opinion for you here since that is my name! :)
I have always generally liked my name. It fits me. I've known about 5 other Heidi's in my life. 2 went to high school with me. (I'm 26). The other two are in their 30's. One is about a 5th grader right now. I do think of a blonde person (I'm blonde and most Heidi's I've known are blonde or blondish).
My middle name is Kay and one other Heidi I knew was also a Heidi Kay. The other I believe was Heidi Lynn. Don't know the other middle names.
I do like Ella as well, although it is quite popular right now. I never used to like it, but it has grown on me.
In America, I don't think of Heidi as "nicknamey" as you will rarely see the name Adelheid used or even Adelaide. Heidi is fairly common as a given name without being overused.

I like Heidi because it is a bit classic without being common. I've met two people named Heidi and they are both around 25 now.
I dislike Ella, sorry. I think it is because I took so much Spanish, I just see the word "she/her."

I think Heidi is a really nice name. It's very happy and sweet and blonde and outdoorsy. I knew a Heidi once who was probably about 5 years older than me, so she would've been born around 1980. And I know a Heidi who is middle aged. I don't know either of their middle names.
I think Heidi would go well with a strong name.
Heidi Alexandra
Heidi Katherine
Heidi Margaret
Heidi Virginia
Ella is cute, but it's too insubstantial for me. I think it'd be best saved for a nickname.

For some reason when i think of the name Heidi I only think of red-headed girls. lol
The German Shepherd that we owned when I was a child was named Heidi, so to me it seems like a pet name.
Even if it weren't for that, I know I wouldn't like it. It seems childish and ditzy and I just don't like the sound of it. For a human, I still think it makes a good pet name.
Thirty years ago I used to babysit for a little girl named Heidi. I think that she would be in her mid-to-late thirties now.

It's nickname-ish . I live in Germany and know two girls named Heidi. One is over thirty and one is almost thirty. I'm pretty sure they don't have middle names. I much prefer Adelheid.
I like Ella, but it's common.
Heidi Annabella
Heidi Catherine
Heidi Pauline
Heidi Emmeline
Heidi Grace
Heidi Sabrina
Heidi Melissa
Heidi Rosemary
Heidi Caroline
Heidi Eleanor
Heidi Ella
Heidi Elizabeth
Heidi Clementine
do you like any?
