Leonor is a very elegant, beautiful name, especially when it's prn lay-oh-NOR, like in Spanish. LEE-uh-nor is okay too. I know some people like the leh-NOR prn but I prefer that spelled like Lenore.

It's a beautiful, beautiful name and one of my favourites. It's becoming more peopluar for little girls here, but fortunately it's nowhere near beatriz or mariana in that respect. By the way, being Portuguese I pronounce it lee-oo-nor.

I pronounce it leh-o-nor... you can listen to it here: http://es.forvo.com/word/leonor/

ConfusionI like this name but do not know how to say it. I want to say "Lee-ah-nor", but is it actually said "Len-or"? I really like "Lee-ah-nor" - I find it dark and exotic. But I don't like "Len-or". It just seems flat and harsh.

Yes, I am a fan. I would spell it Lenore, but Leonor is also pretty.

Do you pronounce them the same? I always assumed Leonor to be LEE-oh-nor, with Lenore as leh-NOR. Am I incorrect?

I believe Leonore Lemmon always prn her name like LEE-oh-nor.

I'm with Akua Topaz on the pronounciation. I like them both, maybe Leonor a bit more.

I am not totally sure, but the only person I knew named Leonor pronounced it the same as Lenore. All of Leonor's siblings had Spanish names too.
