Bebe / Bibi
I stumbled across this name on another forum today and remembered how much I like it. I worked for a summer as an artist in a hospital, painting murals on walls and such, and one one floor there was the sweetest old lady named Bibi. She didn't speak a word of English but was cute as a button and I adored her.(I think I have a thing for the names of my favourite cute old ladies because my other fave name, Pearl, is inspired by another sweetie in a nursing home!)Anyways, what do you think of Bibi? I've also seen it as Bebe. I like it as a nn for Beatrice as well, but think it has a kind of hipster edge to it as a full name. I can see a pair of wool-clad siblings named something like Bebe and Ralph. Makes me sad it's not in the database :( le cry

I can only see them as nicknames and rather childish ones at that.
Here Biba is used as a nickname for Biserka and Bibiana.

Bebe for Beatrice improves a name I can't stand. It does add zip to Barbara, and Bibi could work for Bianca.
Stray facts:
There was an American actress called Bebe Daniels - lived in the UK for many years, real name Phyllis Virginia Daniels.
Bibi, of course, is Binyamin Netanyahu's nickname.
(Bibs was mine as a kid - no idea why, as I'm not a Barbara or Isabel!)

I know a Barbara who's known as Bibi. Really freshens it up!
