I've never liked it as a flower name, and Lilian etc have never appealed either. Far too fragile and fluffy for an adult; and adult Lilies have a strange habit of being very domineering, like Violets.

That said, a good friend of mine is Elizabeth but has always been called Lilli as that was what her siblings could comfortably pronounce. I's happy to like it when it's hers, but not in general.
